Anthony Dawson was born in Scarborough, Yorkshire and is a Graduate of Nottingham University.
As a Printmaker, Anthony’s chosen medium is etching with his prints being hand-coloured with water-colour washes. He draws inspiration both from the coastal towns and villages of East Anglia and from the landscape and domestic architecture of the Cotswold uplands.
He has found that etching is particularly suited to expressing the colour and detail which can be found both in the beachside boats, huts and fishing paraphernalia of East Anglia and in the traditional stone buildings and gardens of the Cotswolds.
Anthony Dawson has been a regular exhibitor at:
Royal West of England Academy, Bristol
Royal Birmingham Society of Artists
Royal Society of Painter Printmakers at the Bankside Gallery, London
Royal Academy Summer Exhibition
John Davies Gallery
Anthony`s etching`s are in the collections of the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford and the Hereford City Museum and in private collections in this country, Europe, Hong Kong, Australia and the USA.
In 1992, Anthony was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers.
