Tim Goffe studied fine art at Brighton before moving to London and establishing himself as a photographer, working in several industries including film, advertising, publishing, architecture and latterly fine art.

He presently paints full time based in south London
Tim Goffe's painterly style is a balance of precision and expressive mark-making, which has developed from his desire to translate into oil paintings the emotional change light can evoke. Moved by the disquiet of the abandoned building, a forgotten space, a night time petrol station or an empty shop, he looks for beauty in the ordinary, and inspiration in the mundane.
"It's all about the light!"
Tim Goffe's past involvement in photography has influenced his approach to painting.
He is an obsessive observer. His has a skill for noticing interest in the world where others might take things for granted. Themes develop but light is always the original inspiration .
