About

Gabriele works primarily with stone, he says: 'it interests me because it takes shape by subtraction, from a mass that is metaphorically unlimited. I like it because it has a long tradition in the history of sculpture and working methods. It is precisely the working methods that fascinate me the most because I believe
that the way something is made also contains its meaning.'

Still life is a theme that Gabriele has been dealing with for several years, known in painting but unusual in terms of sculpture. He is interested in questioning what he sees from the things that surround him, such as everyday objects. His influences include artists such as Cezanne, Giacometti and Morandi. Gabriele's intention is to represent what he feels, touches, sees and to translate it into the language of sculpture.
